Zinc and its Zamak die casting alloys offer excellent dimensional accuracy, low melting point (387–420°C), and good mechanical properties at very competitive cost. As the most widely used die casting metal after aluminum, zinc serves consumer electronics, hardware, and automotive components. Its largest industrial use by volume is galvanizing steel to provide long-term corrosion protection.
