Spring steels are high-carbon or silicon-manganese alloy steels specifically processed and heat-treated to achieve the maximum possible elastic limit and fatigue life under cyclic loading. Typically supplied in the pre-hardened and tempered condition, they deliver the elastic energy storage and release performance required for springs, clips, and flexible blades without taking a permanent set under load.
