Inconel 625

Inconel 625 – Solid-Solution Nickel Superalloy with Outstanding Corrosion Resistance and Weldability

Inconel 625 is a solid-solution strengthened Ni-Cr-Mo superalloy offering outstanding resistance to oxidation and corrosion across a wide temperature range, combined with excellent weldability. Unlike precipitation-hardened superalloys, it requires no post-weld heat treatment (PWHT), making it ideal for fabricated structures in the harshest chemical, marine, and offshore environments.

Key Properties

  • Tensile Strength: 930 MPa
  • Yield Strength: 517 MPa
  • Weldability: Excellent — no PWHT required
  • Density: 8.44 g/cm³
  • Corrosion Resistance: Excellent in a wide range of environments
  • Standards: AMS 5666 / ASTM B443

Common Applications

Offshore oil and gas risers and flowlines, subsea umbilicals, chemical processing heat exchangers, flue gas scrubbers, aircraft engine exhaust systems, and marine propulsion components.
