Copper C145 (Tellurium)
Copper C145 – Tellurium-Bearing Free-Machining Copper for Electrical Connectors
Copper C145 adds 0.5% tellurium to 99.9% pure copper to achieve 90% of brass machinability while retaining 93% IACS electrical conductivity. This unique combination makes it the optimal choice for precision-machined electrical connectors and terminals that require both high conductivity and complex turned geometries unachievable with standard ETP copper.
Key Properties
- Machinability Rating: 90% (vs brass reference at 100%)
- Electrical Conductivity: ~93% IACS
- Thermal Conductivity: 360 W/m·K
- Tellurium Addition: 0.5% Te for chip breaking
- Density: 8.94 g/cm³
- Standards: ASTM B301 / CDA 145
Common Applications
Electrical connectors, terminals, switchgear components, welding torch tips, transistor bases, and any precision-screw-machined part requiring high conductivity with complex geometry.
