Brass C360 – Free-Machining Brass: The Universal Machinability Reference Standard
Brass C360 is the definitive free-machining brass alloy and serves as the machinability reference standard (rating 100) against which all other metals are compared. Its composition of 61.5% copper, 35.5% zinc, and 3% lead produces short, brittle chips that prevent built-up edge on cutting tools, enabling very high production rates in screw machine operations at excellent surface finish quality.
